The sound of liminality: MHD's afro trap, affective listening, and the (re)invention of Afropean identities in France

This article is an exploration of the world making capacities afro trap. Through extended case study MHD's discography, I ask what can be learnt about liminal experiences postcolonial black citizens, or Afropean in France, by listening to popular music. argue that through embracing, reinventing, and (re)producing familiar soundscapes, MHD claims creates from his subject position.
